Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Wife has a swelled up Masseter Jaw Muscle, she has dentures. The Dentist who did her extractions left a wisdom tooth that was later infected. After an Oral surgeon removed the Wisdom Tooth, she started to have jaw pain. Any solutions so she can be pain free? She has struggled for a long time with this condition?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your wife have symptoms of pain in the jaw after tooth extraction which seems to be due to due to traumatic injury or nerve injury and due to leftover infection and due to accumulation of pus below the root tips of the tooth.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult an endodontist and your dentist again and get evaluated. Doctor can take X-ray of tooth and can irrigate tooth and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory.
Do warm saline rinses and maintain hygiene of oral cavity.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
