Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Left Leg While Having Osteoarthritis
I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet. But recently I have begun to have pain in my left leg. 3 years ago I had my right knee replaced and have no pain in that leg. My doctor diagnosed me with osteoarthritis in my left leg. Is that possible? li
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Osteoarthritis is one of the most common joint diseases, especially in the older people and knee joints are mostly affected. As you already have osteoarthritis in your right joint for which you have received knee replacement, then it is highly likely that you also have the same problem in your left knee.
I would suggest you to get an x-ray of the left knee to exactly know the extent of joint damage and this x-ray will also help confirm the type of joint diseases. The treatment for your left joint will be the same as of your right knee joint.
Precautions for not bending your knee too much like squatting position should be taken care of.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Talal Hussain
