Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Left Testicle Of My 14-year-old Son

My 14 year old son says his left testicle occassionally will have mild pain and feels loose in the scrotum it is also slightly lower and angled slightly different than the right. There is no pain with masturbation or with urination. He says when he experiences pain in the left testicle it is usually accompanied with pain in the lower abdomen. Any ideas of what this may be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to testicular torsion. This diagnosis should be evaluated through a testicular ultrasound. Meanwhile, I suggest using pain killers such as Ibuprofen three times a day to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
