Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Pivot Area Of Buttock And Thigh

My wife has buttock pain near the inside of the thigh/buttock area near the pivot area of the buttock and thigh. She has been seen by a physical therapist but since they could feel any muscle tightness the couldn`t help. She expresses the pain as amuscle cramping up, it`s painful to walk and hurts when lying down, what is wrong?

Hello,

It is difficult to give a diagnosis without knowing the full information about your wife's health and also without an examination. She can take Ibuprofen 400-600mg 3 times per day for 2 weeks to decrease the inflammation of the tissues happening there. Also, she can apply a local analgesic cream for 3-4 times per day to help against the inflammation. It needs 4-6 weeks to heal. If not better she needs to see an orthopedist to examine her joint and do further testing.
