I wrote that recently I ve developed a sharp pain under the left side of my rib cage. It s random and follows no true patterns (day or night, before or after meals. before or after specific foods, etc.) Starting Wed morning the color of my normal bowel changed to a bright toxic green and going back over my diet, I didn t eat any green leafy vegetables, or anything that could have caused that discoloration except perhaps some yellow & blue frosting on a piece of BD cake. I have Alpha 1 Antitrypsin disease and have a pulmonary doc who deals with that, a cardiologist who has worked with me after a heart attack and stent in 2012 and my GP who coordinates all the testing, etc. of all three. I am pretty active and in pretty good shape (don t look ill) but I also work in a skilled nursing facility so am always being exposed to lots of germs, bacteria, etc. I was planning on watching to see if the discoloration changed before calling my GP but given the abdominal pain that has been coming and going over the past 2-3 weeks I didn t want to take any undue chances since the Alpha 1 tends to complicate everything. For the record, I am a 60 year old female who rarelydrank and never smoked but was diagnosed as an Alpha 1 carrier at age 29 and went into full blown disease about 10 years ago
