Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have a chest through to shoulder blade pain that radiated through to my shoulders. After countless tests, scans etc.. I have been found to have high blood pressure and now an irregular heart beat. A Vascular surgeon would be happy to try a stent in my artery but would my heart that likes to go into different beats every now and then stop me having surgery ? Thankyou.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Chest pain radiating to shoulder could be due to a problem with the heart, lungs or gastrointestinal problem like gastritis/gastroesophageal reflux. With a past history of high blood pressure, cardiovascular cause like an ischemic heart disease is more likely. However, other possible causes should still be eliminated. High blood and irregular heartbeats can be managed with antihypertensives/antiarythmics.I will however advise you see a cardiologist for examination and an ECG.An ECG will help to confirm any heart problem and any arythmia. Your cardiologist may only send you to a vascular surgeon if a problem is diagnosed that may need surgery. Hope my answer Will help you Best wishes
