I have a raised sternum and my sternum and chest are painful when i touch/palpate it. I have been having a feeling of something stuck in my throat for a few weeks. I went to the doctor a month ago and was prescribed antibiotics. however, that feeling is still there. I sometimes find it difficult to breathe and will have to take a deep breath

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The feeling of something getting stuck in your throat can be caused by several conditions. GERD (gastric acid reflux) is a major one, anxiety and PND (post nasal drip) are a few other ones.

You can try to take Omeprazole and Loratadine. If no improvement in a week or if you have any worsening you will need to have a thorough examination with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
