General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are consistent with neuropathic pain like sciatica. Other possibilities are prolapsed disc and associated nerve impingement.

As a first line management, you can take drugs like gabapentin for symptomatic relief. Avoid strenuous physical activities like weight lifting also.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
