Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Toe

Have a sharp, dull pain at the end of my big toe (right foot). I noticed a very, very tiny light brown spot that looked similar to an infected splinter, but very tiny. I popped one, and the inside was hollow, like a deep needle poke. Today, I noticed these others more towards the front end. Any clue what they would be, and if they are associated with this pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Dull & sharp pain at big toe may be due to
infections, injuries, blisters, corns, ingrown toenails, bunions and arthritis

I advice you to,
1. Take Analgesics like acetaminophen , anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen
2. Apply Ice pack for 15 - 20 minutes to get rid of pain
3. Also do stretching exercises
4. Do serum uric acid levels (to rule out GOUT)
5.Take plenty of water

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
