Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For 8 years now I have experienced severe upper shoulder pain ( the muscles that connect to the side of the neck, between my shoulder blades, across the bra line finishing at the front bottom rib) after I eat anything. I thought I was over eating for a long time but found even in small amounts the pain was still prevalent. In the last year I began having uncomfortable sometimes painful feeling under my left upper rib. Today I experienced extreme stomach cramps. Mainly down my left side. It was sharp and at times began prickling into my lower abs and into the lower right abs. Never touched the right upper ab. I believe the pain was from gas as it has subsided now except for a few painful twitches now and then. Also it is painful to the touch on the left side under my rib clear to my sternum. But not on my right side at all. The uncomfortable feeling I get under my rib is more noticeable when sitting and laying. It feels like something is pushing against my rib almost as if it doesn't have room and is folding. Yes I have been to a Dr. for this. The first one said it was in my head. I shut my mouth for 7 years about it after that until last year when the pain after eating was unbearable. Last year my primary physician did a blood test and ultra sound checking for gall stones. Said everything was fine and to not worry. I did go to a chiropractor that suggested that my esophagus and diaphragm may not be lining up and that is what is causing the pain. I am a 22 year old female. 5'7" 143lbs. I have always been very physically in shape. This problem started at age 14. I rarely drink and I smoked for 10 years until I quit this August. Thanks for the help~DZ
