Suggest Treatment For Pain On Knee Joint With Stiffness

Hello, I am 54 years old, female, 9 weeks ago had bi-lateral patella replacement. Having issues with right knee, experiencing pain and instability on inner side of knee joint with stiffness and pulling towards inside as if my knee wanted to jump out of socket. I have been icing, stretching, doing quad exercises, etc., but am having problems walking because of the instability. What can I do? Thanks. Crystal

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to rheumatoid arthritis. I recommend to use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the stiffness and pain. I also recommend to use cold compresses for local application. Gentle stretching exercises can also be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
