Suggest Treatment For Pain On Left Side Of Abdomen And Abdominal Gas

I started having slight abdominal pain in left side last night. Then this morning it seems to travel to front back to left side. Able to eat and have a bowel movement without pain. It feels better if I lay on my left side. I haven t been able to pass gas, but I cannot remember what I ate that was different. I have been drinking water and just laying down. What should I do?

Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

You are experiencing symptoms of abdominal bloating which can occur with gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, lactose intolerance etc.

Avoid food like milk, gluten containing food, spicy food, oily food, junk food, alcohol. Avoid smoking. Keep well hydrated with plenty of water. Eat food rich in fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.

Kindly consult with a gastroenterologist and have a thorough physical examination and necessary investigations to rule out the cause of the symptoms and decide a proper management for your problem.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
