Suggest Treatment For Pain Under The Shoulders Caused After An Injury
I am 55 year old male in very good shape. Have done p90x and crossfit for almost 6 years. Three days ago, felt like I was hit in upper arm just below shoulder while sleeping. Kept me up that night. Since then pain has gone to shoulder and painful lifting arm over shoulder height. Have some intermittent tingling in fingers on that side. Haven t ever had shoulder problem. Don t believe I did anything specific on Wednesday when last did p90x shoulders, triceps And biceps routine.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You seem to have rotator cuff injury with possible shoulder dislocation to the affected shoulder, mostly following vigorous shoulder exercises over years affecting the joint slowly and resulting in the present state.
You should stop doing painful movements. Fixing the hand with a sling in the neck and hot/ice pack/over the counter pain medicine like Ibuprofen would reduce some pain till you see the expert.
Consult an orthopedic surgeon earliest to find the exact happening after needful MRI followed by specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
