Suggest Treatment For Painful Blisters On The Body While Having Shingles

I have shingles and most of the blisters have healed but I still feel very painful and itchy. My doctor has prescribed Tylenol 3 with codiene and gabapentin 400 and for itching he asked me to use calamine lotion. What would you suggest? Email: YYYY@YYYY

I really appreciate your concern, if this was the viral infection (Herpes ) then pain is very common phenomenon seen after the lesion heals and such pain long last just bear the pain as hard as you could and it will be alright soon, in my opinion just NSAID is enough instead of taking any potent analgesic hope this information helps.
