Suggest Treatment For Painful Blue Black Discoloration On Breast After Injury

I got hit on the inside of my right breast during a group workout. Within a few hours it was black, blue, red and purple and it had swollen out from my breast by almost an inch. It was slightly harder than normal. It is now 30 hours later and it is almost all black and the bruise size is the size of a tennis ball. If I apply pressure for more than 5 second it become blood red a few minutes later. It does hurt when I touch it. Is this normal? The hit wasn t very hard, I only felt a slight discomfort (I wouldn t even call it pain) for a few minutes. Is this a normal bruise or could it be something else?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to hitting there has been trauma to small blood vessels leading to spillage of blood into the soft tissues and there has been bruising that is appearing as black and blue..
In case if there is hardness, there seems to be inflammation of soft tissues and also there can be hematoma formation..

I would suggest you to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a proper clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case if there is only mild soft tissue injury you need not to worry as it will get resolved although can take a few days to even month..

You can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling and bruising..
You can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
You can also apply Heparin gel but avoid areola and nipple..
