Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, 2 days ago I was hit in the side by my son s knee playing sports. The bruised ribs pain hurts but I can move and sleep. The worry is the gas and bloated pain I m having.. I ve been taking about 6 Aleve a day and experience severe discomfort with indigestion and gas. Could that be related to rib injury or the Aleve?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. More likely this would be related to Aleve which is known to cause abdominal discomfort, bloating and gastritis. Rib injury is always painful especially few days after and you need to rest, apply cold compresses and take painkiller. for your stomach it would be better to take Paracetamol or tramadol if you are able to or take Ranitidin along with aleve when you take it. Also, take more fluids, high fibre food and probiotics to reduce bloating risk. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
