Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband s calf is very painful. He has an area of red skin located on his medial calf. It extends from mid calf to the back of his knee. I can feel a band of tissue that appears to be the source of the pain and inflammation. What could this be?
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that your are having cellulitis of calf muscles. If he is not having fever then no need to worry much. Treatment of it is analgesics and antibiotics. Vitamin B and C help in recovery. Elevation of limb is useful to reduce swelling. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your query. Wishing you a good health. Take care.
