Suggest Treatment For Painful Cold Sore Beside Mouth And Fordyce Spots

I have a cold sore in the corner of my mouth. It's not very painful, however it was filled with a clear fluid and developed a yellow crust. I then noticed some fordyce spots had appeared on my lips. Are these two things connected? Can fordyce spots be a symptom of herpes?

Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Cold sores are caused by Herpes Virus 1 and can be in the form of multiple blisters over the lips and corners of mouth while fordyce's spots are elevated sebaceous glands and are not any pathological findings as they are normal anatomical structures..

Herpes is not a causative factor for Fordyce's Spots and herpes needs to be treated with topical and oral antiviral drugs like Acyclovir.

Fordyce's Spots do not need any treatment while it has to be removed only for cosmetic purposed by a dermatologist..
Carbon dioxide laser or Electrodessication can be done to remove the Fordyces spots..
