Suggest Treatment For Painful Gum After A Tooth Extraction

Hello. I had a bottom jaw wisdom tooth extracted last thursday. The tooth did not hurt but the gum behind was painful so the dentist decided to extract the tooth. Since that time I have noticed something like a yellow spot on the gum in the area where I was previously getting the pain. I have been treating with peroxide and at times ethanol to stop the pain. What could this be please?
