Suggest Treatment For Painful Hematoma In The Groin And Legs
I have angiogram procedure 2 wks ago then it just happen that my groin and my legs get so painful.,took me to emerge and it turn out i have hematoma in my groin and legs., sent me home with just a tylenol., my question is why i still have this severe sharp pain in my groin and my legs., how long it will takes to go the pain away? anabel
It might be due to the angiography done via the femoral route. The catheter is passed from an artery to the heart and the coronary arteries of the heart are examined for blockade. Whenever an artery is punctured, local haematoma gets formed as in your case. The femoral site is swelled but it will resolve in a few days when the blood will disperse to the nearby tissue. It may regress in the next 5 to 7 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
