Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a hemorrhoid about the size of a golf ball. External... It has been so painful. She gave me prescription for some suppositories. My insurance doesn t cover. It cost 400.00. So my pharmacy told me to use a couple of different creams. Now it has busted and is leaking pus like secretion with a little blood. I have been looking on line and noticed that it maybe a anal abscess. How would I know? Should I be concerned?
The cream was probably to shrink hemorrhoids. Now that you have pus coming out of it in a contaminated environment, you should have it cleaned out and looked at with possible treatment with antibiotics. You should not let this go as the infection could get a lot worse and put you in more pain. Please consult with your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
