Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Im 24 and I found a very painful lump in my left armpit which has gone down but not completely.I doesnt hurt as much but I have a very odd hard Vein that feels like its attached to it.Im scared to even think of what it can be.I know im in gods hand and he knows the end of my story.BUT its just the thought that scares me what should I do?
If the lump is easily palpable and just under the skin- this is most probably an infected sebaceous cyst. The other less probable cause is a lymph node. Lymph nodes are deep-seated and not easily palpable. There may be a possibility of a focus of infection in the drainage area like the same side upper limb or breast.
Cancer are very rare at your age, the nodes are painless to start with, so nothing much to worry about it at the moment. I would advise you to get a proper antibiotic and anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen medicines for 5 to 10 days under a Doctor's examination, supervision and prescription. This will resolve. If you see no responses consult a Surgeon to get proper examination and diagnosis and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
