Suggest Treatment For Painful Mass On Forehead And Neck Pain After Accident
I had an atv accident 10 days ago. 2 days in hospital with concussion road rash fractured tooth and sprained shoulder. Road rash and black eyes are almost completely gone. This mass on my forehead however is still here and as big as the first day. It is now more painful to move muscles in my face and my jaw and neck are hurting worse. Worry or wait until the follow up appointment in 8 days?
Pain & difficulty in movement of the face, jaw and neck is commonly due to inflamed nerves, joint problems, when the neck muscles are sore & do not relax they may cause difficulty in movement of the jaws.
You can take pain relieving medicines, like combiflam or muscle relaxants like baclofen, one sos after food to treat muscle spasticity & stiffness.
If you do not get relieve there may be some complication with the TMJ, so you should contact your treating doctor & get clinically examined. You may have to get a few investigations & imaging tests done.
You can apply a thick layer of ointment Thrombophob on the area of the forehead that is swollen.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
