General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. i have read your query.

Painful bump on the pubic bone can be folliculitis (due to infection of the hair follicle by bacteria), be careful while waxing or shaving your private area.

Do not pop or prick, wear loose fitting cotton clothes, take analgesics for pain. Apply ointment hydrocortisone or Neosporin to the affected area. Take care of your hygiene.

However, you are suggested to visit a gynae & get examined physically to rule out Herpe bump. Get std test done. If it is a herpe bump you will be treated with oral antibiotics & antivirals.

Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K
