Suggest Treatment For Painful Pimples On The Nose

My mom was admitted to the hospital this evening. She is 88 and healthy. Sat she had what she called a pimple on the bridge of her nose. Sun she had what she called a little blister under her eye. The blister kept growing and this morning was significantly swollen. She went to her MD. He had her admitted to the local hospital a few hours ago. She has had lab work (blood) drawn and has been stated on IV - Piperacillin and Tazabactam (?spell) Any idea what might be going on? Her MD will see her tomorrow. In the mean time, my dad is pretty frightened. A health care provider told him they are giving lg, art of antibiotic as they don t want the infection to travel to her brain. Thanks ~

Hi,

Yes, they are correct. A part of the nose and the eye is what is called as the dangerous area of the face and infection from there can spread to Brain directly but don't worry the antibiotics which they have started are really specific for the bacteria.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
