Suggest Treatment For Painful Polyneuropathy In Legs And Feet
Hi Im 55 and I have polyneurothapy so painful in my feet and legs, also have chronic back pain in which Im getting a epi shot every month. Iv been taking gabapentin for a year and dosnt help, makes me very sleepy. I was given a presc. for lyrica, but the side effects are terriable. What other treatment is there for polyneurorathapy. thank you. Andrew
Hi, Thanks for contacting HCM. Given that the gabapentin (Neurontin) and Lyrica were both already attempted, there is a third option that I will try for my patients with polyneuropathy. I will prescribe them Mentax, which is more like a prescription vitamin, but has shown to heal the nerve, rather than block its signals to the brain. I will also try a topical compound cream, that a pharmacy will prepare consisting of pain and neuropathy medications. I hope this answers your question. If you need any further help, I am here to assist you. Thanks.
