Suggest Treatment For Painful Purple Veins Under Tongue
My tongue hurts. I have very purple veins under my tongue. I really can t taste food that well. My mouth feels like it does when you burn your mouth from hot food. I had a dental exam about 3 months ago and he does check my tongue and said all looked well. I am not sure whom I should see about this.
I can understand your concern. Having purple veins under the tongue can be due to many causes. However, as you are having burning in the mouth too, it seems like you are suffering from Vitamin B12 deficiency.
I would advise you to start with Vitamin B12 supplements such B-Folcin once a day for about a month. The painful tongue, burning mouth and purple spots should reduce or disappear in a month.
However, if you do not find any improvement in the situation within 15 days, you should see a dentist or oral & maxillofacial surgeon for physical examination of the tongue and further investigations for the diagnosis and treatment.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
