Suggest Treatment For Painful Redness After Pinching Pimple

I had a pimple that I tried popping, it didn t work so last night I used neosporin and vaseline to eliminate the chance of infection. Now it is flat, little larger than pea sized, but BRIGHT RED, there is also a dull white scab/circle/mark in the center. Please help me, I go on vacation tomorrow and I am extremely self conscious about this.... How can I either a) reduce the redness or b) get rid of it altogether (As fast as possible) Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
I appreciate your concern
in my opinion you should not touch it
which spreads infection and further inflammation

it appears due to collection of sebum which leads to bacterial growth

take a course of antibiotics and a local antiseptic ointment under supervision of your doctor

Hope I have answered your question

thanks for using our site
good luck
