Suggest Treatment For Painful Second Degree Burn Blister On Thumb
I got a second degree burn on my thumb and it formed a huge blister. I drained the blister and the skin is now this wrinkly dry mess . The skin is peeling off and under it there s just raw exposed skin and it burns like hell ! What am I supposed to do ? The burn is the full length of my thumb and I feel like it will take forever for new skin to form. Do I just keep it covered? Should I put anything on it ?
Hello welcome to HCM. Dont cover it . As far it is healthy tissue nothing to worry. Keep it hygenic and dry. If it looks messy and to avoid pain when it touches objects, you can cover it with soft dry clean cotton cloth. This is because the nerve will be very sensitive in these areas. Dont wrap it tightly as air heals faster. Normal skin will come but definetly it will take many days.Take care.
