Suggest Treatment For Painful Sore Spot On The Upper Part Of Head
I have a scabby sore on the right upper part of my head - not big - but painful in that whole area when touched or bothered... I have had real bad headaches and feels like a sore in my right nose cavity....this was very painful - seen Dr. twice when was real bad - took antiobiotics for 10 days and pain med. IB or tylenol all day and night for several days... Now I can still feel something in my nose- such as a scab from a sore and I still get some sinus pain - red irritated right eye and pain from sore on head... I had a shingles vac. just over a year ago..... I am 61 and female........ I still take IB - especially before bed... can this be shingles ?

Hi,
This is most likely not shingles. Without having seen your lesions on your head and nose, i would suggest that there are two different causes. The sore on your head and the one in the nose might be impetigo - this can be alleviated with antibiotics after having a culture test-taken to insure that it is in fact bacterial and to measure resistance levels.
Secondly, the sore on your head could - given your age - be skin cancer, which often represents like a continuously scabbing sore which does not heal. You need a dermatologist referral for the sore on your head as it might be skin cancer.
