Suggest Treatment For Painful Spasms In My Lower Left Abdomen
I have had painful spasms in my lower left abdomen for the past two days. I had a colon resection for diverticulitis about six years ago and have not had symptoms in this area since then. These pains come and go, are not constant. I do not have diarrhea or constipation, just these waves of pain. Can you suggest how I can get some relief?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Since you are not having diarrhea and constipation, no need to worry much for abdominal causes for this pain. Sometimes urinary tract infection (UTI) can also cause similar symptoms. So get done urinary microscopic examination and ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out UTI. If both these are normal then no need to worry. This is mostly muscular pain. So take painkiller and muscle relaxant drug. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep. Apply warm water pad on affected areas. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
