Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling In Right Knee After Falling
My. 12 year old daughter fell on her right knee a while back and couldn t walk on it because it was painful and swollen but its been a few months but now her right knee cracks every time she goes up or down stairs and her knees hurt if she stands for to long or she does to much activity and if she sits for to long and also is she bends down or bends her knee for to long

Hello,
Your 12 year old fell on her right knee and has been hurting since that time. Swelling and pain is there. You are suggested to help your daughter stay at rest. She is advised not to walk or strain her leg any further. For relief, she can take acetaminophen, one SOS when pain. She can also apply pain relieving spray (Volini) on the affected knee. You are suggested to get her clinically examined by an Orthopedics, swelling may be indicative of tendon or ligament tear or fracture.
Get her X-ray and MRI done. She may require a crepe bandage for relief and if fracture is detected she will be accordingly managed/ treated. Do not neglect, neglect may result in worsening of the condition. She should keep her leg under rest. She is advised to keep the affected leg on a stool when sitting or on a pillow when on bed.
