Suggest Treatment For Painful Swelling In The Leg

I walked to store last night, and afterwards my right leg started swelling. I had pain from my foot up to my knee.it was very painful and I couldn t walk or stand. All day I have kept my leg elevated.and the swelling has gone down some. Can yon please tell me what could of caused this. This has happened only three other times in the last year.I m on no medications at this time. No allergy s.

Yes. swelling of leg is a major problem.
There many causes of swelling of the leg
Infection -cellulitis
DVT Deep venous thrombosis
myositis infection and inglanation of muscles
bone infection or fracture
Tests
X ray
MRI
Full haemogram check for raised White blood cells for bacterial infection
Treatment
This will depend on the out come if the test.
