Suggest Treatment For Painful Urination In Kids

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Our ten year old son complains of burning after he urinates. He says it does not burn during and it subsides after 15 minutes. We took him to the doctor and they tested his urine for a UTI and they did not find evidence of one, however he continues to complain and was brought to tears this evening.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

As the urinary infection has been ruled out the only other option existing should be concentrated urine because of decreased water intake.

I suggest you give plenty of water and even then if the same problem is persistent then the kid might require an ultrasound abdomen to see if there is any bladder wall inflammation or renal stones.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
