Suggest Treatment For Pain, swelling And Redness In The Bottom Of My Foot

I discovered I had a blister on bottom of foot between baby toe and next toe on Friday when the top of my foot, above blister area was swollen, red, and painful. My husband noted blister had already popped and removed the dead skin. I am using antibiotic cream to site and elevating as much as possible yesterday. Site is still swollen, redness is less intense in color, pain is less when elevated. How long should I continue this treatment before becoming more concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The pain and swelling are indicative of cellulitis development following bacterial infection.

* Apart from local care as sterile dressing, systemic antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs will recover faster.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
