Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently suffered from an allergic reaction due to some new medication i was taking (the exact cause was not determined), however, it left me with blisters on my lips that have since peeled off leaving my lips raw and waiting for new skin to grow back. I ve been using vaseline (petroleum jelly) and polysoprin, however, I was wondering if there was something else I should be using for faster healing. I try not to pick at scabs or skin, however, during the course of the day when above remedies are applied a certain amount of skin/scabs just naturally fall off. Is this okay? Will it impede the healing process? How do I also prevent lips from sticking together and pulling fresh skin/scabs off on their own?
