Suggest Treatment For Penile Mondor S Disease

For about 9 months now I ve been dealing with Mondor a disease (Clot/Inflammation of the Dorsal Vein of the Penis). The pain is uncomfortable and very painful at times. The Urologist recommended an anti inflammatory and aspirin daily until it clears up. This was after multiple visits and him not really knowing what my problem was. He didn t diagnose it as Mondor s disease until I suggested it and he looked it up after about 3 visits. I guess he hasn t been faced with this issue before me. Is there anything that may help get some results outside of what I m already taking? More months than expected have passed and I m not doing any better than I was before.

Hello,

Penile Mondor disease is not a big deal and it will resolve spontaneously. As of now, you can apply thrombophobe ointment for faster recovery. A followup Doppler can be taken for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
