Hi my aunt has been dx with a perforated colon. She also has an abcess formed in her peridiverticlum. She has a drain to drain the abcess. but what I want to know is what are some of the procedures or surgeries that can fix a perforated colon. she is 88 ys old and very weak right now.
yes sir ... putting a drain concept is removing the infected material outside the body and allowing the body to repair the perforation on its own
since your aunt is too weak start ing her on total parenteral nutrition would be a better idea... helps to built her strength and provide sufficient nutrition.. but if her symptoms don't relieve... your Dr may advice you to go for surgery
thankyou
