Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have perianal abcess its about size of golf ball ive tried turmiric tree oil sitz bath raw potato it just wont bust went to ER they said it wasnt big enough to drain gave me pain pills and antibiotics all its doing is growing i need to know what i can put on it to get it to burst and drain
Pyodine sits can also help along with laxatives or stool softeners to decrease strain on the area.
If after a weeks follow up, the problem persists, a surgical opinion for incision and drainage can be sought. Local fudic acid cream may also be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician

Suggest Treatment For Perianal Abscess
Hi, Based on the history you have shared, you should not try to burst it open as it can cause local infection and will further complicate the recovery. First let the inflammation settle with anti-inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongwith antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Pyodine sits can also help along with laxatives or stool softeners to decrease strain on the area. If after a weeks follow up, the problem persists, a surgical opinion for incision and drainage can be sought. Local fudic acid cream may also be needed. Hope I have answered your query.
