Suggest Treatment For Persistent Abdominal Pain After Eating Cherries
Hi, I woke up a few days ago with bad stomach pains. I assumed it was because I ate too many cherries and chips the night before. It felt so bad on monday that I felt I was going to be sick to my stomach. It s been bothering me since then, always seems to feel like there s food in it or something not digesting. Difficult to eat anything, but I seem to be going to the bathroom normally. What can it be?
If you are having this stomach upset for less than 7-10 days then very likely this is just a viral infection and is self-limiting. Make sure to eat and drink in frequent small amounts during the day to alleviate the stomach irritation. Also, avoid smoking, alcohol and coffee and all food that makes you feel worse.
If the symptoms are for more than 10 days than you will need to take some Omeprazole 20 mg 30 minutes before breakfast to help with your stomach. If Omeprazole does not help in 3-4 days then you will need a check to rule out other causes for your symptoms.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
