Suggest Treatment For Persistent Abdominal Pain

I am a female and have been experiencing right abdominal pain for one week. Had ultrasound that ruled out pancreas, kidney, gallbladder and appendix and was told blood was normal. It feels like a pulling sensation on my right side sometimes when I lift things, or when I laugh, but it is not a constant pain. Had a yearly physical with clean bill of health within last few months. I know it is only a week, but the fact that the doctor and hospital I went to could not tell me what it is has me worried and am not sure what to do next but hope it goes away. I have no other symptoms to mention other than the abdominal pain.

Hello,

Your symptoms sound like that they may be related to the possible inguinal hernia if you especially have pain on the right lower abdomen with or without pain on the right-sided groin area.

Such pain get worse with putting strain or pressure down in your abdomen including coughing, laughing or lifting heavy objects.

In female patients, it may be also due to round ligament pain which is a benign condition. If you already have ruled out conditions including appendicitis with imaging studies, that is good to know.

However, ultrasound is not a reliable option to rule out appendicitis so if you continue to have pain on right lower abdomen that is getting worse, you may want to get further imaging studies such as CT scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
