I have been on an Rx of morphine for back pain for almost 13 yrs.Recently had my back fixed and no longer need this drug.Over the past 3 yrs I have decreased (on my own) my dosage from 60mg twice a day to 15mgs once a day..cutting 15mg tabs in half and taking every 12-16 hrs.I have only 17 tabs left and do not want to EVER take anymore.My PCP seems unwilling to help me with any withdrawal symptoms meds...what can I do to combat the withdrawals..I am 73 yrs old and in general good health..I use no other drugs. I reside in Queen Creek Az.
