Suggest Treatment For Persistent Chest Infection Despite Steroid Intake

I have had a chest infection for three weeks had two different antibiotics and steroids I cant stop coughing my ribs are very painful I am bringing up some stuff but the infection not clearing I have seen three doctors and they said my tubes are very tight I have a heart condition and getting worried about it now

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since you did not respond to the other antibiotics used, your doctor will need to consider starting another course of medication.

This may include: (a) a mucolytic to help break up the mucus so that it can come up easily eg bisolvan, guaifenesin, mucomyst
(b)another course of antibiotics and steroids
(c)anti inflammatory pain medication to help the pain in the ribs eg cataflam, naproxen

You need to try to drink enough fluids, this would also help to decrease the thickness of the secretions.
