Being rarely ill, I am unable to shake a cough (no phlegm arriving) accompanied by exhaustion. NO sore throat or itchy eyes or ear problems. Last 2 night s sleep incurred sweating of upper body. This has been one week, beginning with total laryngitis for one day. Thank you, Dr. Renne

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Persistent cough and profuse night sweats can be symptoms of various underlying conditions. It is essential to consult with a healthcare provider to figure out the cause and appropriate treatment. Treatment options may include medications to manage the symptoms, such as cough suppressants or anticholinergics for the cough, and medications to control sweating.

If an underlying infection or other medical condition is identified, treatment may include antibiotics or other specific therapies. Lifestyle changes, such as avoiding triggers for the cough and maintaining good sleep hygiene, may also be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
