Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough, Lack Of Energy And Breathlessness
Actually I was researching COPD. My daughters 2000 miles away in separate states think I have COPD because they can hear it when I speak on the phone. I have a annoying cough, and lack of energy, and quick loss of breath just walking the 75 steps to the mail box, never smoked, but my husband did. I am 81 years of age, and a widow. Yes, the possibility of COPD is there. A patient who has a cough for long times, and has shortness of breath with exertion may very likely have COPD. The chest may sometimes produce whistling sounds. So if your daughter can hear it, she may be right and I understand you should now talk to your doctor for assessment and management of the same. Even if it's not COPD, there are few other possible chronic lung diseases which can be managed and helped, so it's better and necessary to be seen by your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
