Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough When Diagnosed With Bronchitis

My husband has had bronchitis and strong coughing for a few weeks. Has seen physician twice and taking steroids and medicine for cough. He has coughed so hard has bruising on abdomen and now has large area under right area stretching to back with eccymosis and swelling.

Here your bronchitis is being worsen and not benefited from prescribed drugs...

So I suggest you to consult pulmonologoist for examination and get investigated with...
-CBC
-ESR
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry if needed
-sputum examination and culture if needed
-sputum cytology if needed

According to cause and investigation report specific treatment given

If cough is excess and need to be suppressed than dextromethorphan syrup can be prescribed
