Hi I had Flu a few months ago and a cough, but when I was coughing sometimes no sound came out, and I have recovered from the flu, however sometimes when I laugh out loud or cough there is no sound, it s lasts briefly, and now I ve noticed when I am talking and when I sing my voice is breaking and I have to clear my throat alot lately. What could be wrong? Is it voice box cancer? I am a woman age 57 years
* The symptoms of persistent cough are not in concern with voice box cancer, rather it is indicative of residual amount of bacterial or viral infection involving the respiratory tract.
* Kindly consult your doc for clinical examination for prescription of needed antibiotics, expectorant with or without steroids to cure the condition in a best possible manner.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
