Yes my friend has been sick for over 3months and been to 5 differant Doctors had lung exrays showed scaring on lungs she is on antibotics cough meds modernized air filters in rooms she went to africa 3years ago is there a parasite she may have got and it s got into her lungs she all way been very healthy no fever only conjested only real sympton
Based on the history you have shared, if chest X-ray shown scarring it's better to get HRCT chest, to look for any changes in pulmonary or lung parenchyma or any signs of interstitial fibrosis.If any abnormality is suspected, pulmonary function tests may also be needed. Meanwhile anti histamines like cetirizine or loratidine alongwith cough suppressant like ammonium chloride or diamorphine containing cough syrups may be helpful. Monteleukast at night may be needed if allergic elements are also accompanied however pulmonologist review, X-ray and HRCT reprints, detailed chest examination is a must to rule out any chronic lung infection whether fungal or bacterial like tuberculosis in light of her Africa travel.
