My daughter has had a persistent cough for a week. Her MD thought it was allergies and we have been giving her Claritin and went on vacation to the ocean and she has had no change. Today I noticed a rash on her back and chest. She had not had a fever

Hello,

I agree with your doctor that the symptoms can be related to an allergy. I suggest using Claritin as prescribed by your doctor. I also suggest using a Hydrocortisone cream for local application.
