My mom has this cough that has been going on for several years. Just these past few weeks though, it has gotten worse. Sometimes she has mucus, sometimes not. But it is continuous, loud, and doesn t seem to get any better even after the she used the meds her doctor gave her. In the past, she has used Advair, but not anymore. Can you please help me ?
Several years of coughing means the problem needs a proper clinical evaluation after preliminary examination and investigations and have expert's opinion too. Basic investigations are as follows: * X-ray of chest and sinuses * CT scan to confirm * Tests of blood, urine and stool * Pulmonary function tests Second opinion of a pulmonologist, cardiologist or ENT surgeon as would the primary cause found so that an appropriate management can be done.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
